The renowned Nigerian music producer known as ID Cabasa, whose real name is Olumide Ogunade, has recently provided remarkable insights into the workings of Marlian Records, especially in light of the tragic loss of his fellow artist Mohbad, who was previously signed under the same label.
As the nation mourns the untimely passing of the ‘Imole’ maestro, who illuminated the music scene with his talent but sadly left us at the young age of 27, ID Cabasa has also added his voice to the outpouring of condolences.
In a widely circulated video, ID Cabasa passionately voiced his concerns about the treatment meted out to artists within Naira Marley’s record label.
To emphasize his point, the experienced entertainer conveyed that he had received information suggesting that both the car and house acquired by Zinoleesky in recent years were registered under the label’s name rather than in Zinoleesky’s personal capacity.
ID Cabasa, who has mentored musical legends like Olamide and 9ice under his own label, unequivocally characterized Naira Marley’s actions as nothing short of cruelty. He further argued that Naira Marley had effectively deviated from the fundamental principles and objectives typically associated with record label owners. Cabasa emphasized that, instead of enhancing the lives of his signees, Naira Marley had subjected them to a state of servitude.
If that’s true, why would anyone be under that kind of management…except it’s a cult
