Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was re-arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) on the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

However, this attempt resulted in a confrontation between the prison officials and DSS operatives, leading to the leader of the prison officials being manhandled.
Following some form of intervention, possibly from higher authorities, the prison officials left the court, and the DSS operatives maintained a heavy presence both inside and outside the courtroom, positioning their two Hilux pick-up vans.
