Victor Osimhen is seeking an annual salary of €7 million to extend his contract with Napoli. Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli winning their first Serie A title in 33 years, finishing as the top scorer in the league with 26 goals in 32 games during the 2022/23 season.

His exceptional performances have attracted attention from clubs such as PSG, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Bayern Munich. The report suggests that a potential solution could involve Napoli meeting Osimhen’s salary demands of around €7 million while adding a release clause of approximately €200 million to the contract. Negotiations are underway to reach an agreement as swiftly as possible, with discussions focusing on shared image rights as well.

Sky Italia reported a second meeting between Napoli and Osimhen’s representative, Roberto Calenda, regarding the contract renewal. Calendar expressed Osimhen’s desire to extend his stay at Napoli, and both parties are committed to ensuring the 24-year-old remains with the club for at least another season. However, there is still a significant gap between the club’s offer and the player’s demands. Napoli is eager to retain Osimhen, particularly after the departures of Cristiano Guintoli, Luciano Spalletti, and Kim Min-Jae.

Meanwhile, Football-Italia reports that if Kylian Mbappe leaves Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Osimhen is their primary target. Mbappe has informed PSG that he will not exercise the option to extend his contract until 2025, potentially allowing him to leave for free next year. Despite this, Mbappe has expressed his desire to remain in Paris for the 2023/24 season and will make a decision on his future next summer. PSG is reportedly working on selling Mbappe during this transfer window.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a fee of €75 million. He has since scored 50 goals in 83 Serie A matches and an additional seven goals in 11 Champions League appearances. His current contract with Napoli is set to expire in June 2025.
