The police have revealed compelling evidence suggesting that Naira Marley and Sam Larry were involved in the cyberbullying, physical abuse, threat to life, and assault against the late Afrobeats artist Mohbad. Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12. Shortly after his demise, videos depicting his alleged bullying and assault circulated online, with many implicating Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
Despite their repeated denials of any involvement in the incidents leading to Mohbad’s death, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry voluntarily presented themselves for questioning during the ongoing police investigation.
Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Idowu Owohunwa, disclosed this information during a media briefing on October 6, 2023. He stated that although Naira Marley (Abdulazeez Fashola) and Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) denied their criminal liability and provided alibis to refute their complicity in the events that occurred between September 10-12, 2023, substantial electronic evidence and credible witness testimonies link them to cyberbullying, threats to life, assault causing harm, and behavior likely to incite public disorder against Mohbad while he was still alive.
Both Naira Marley and Sam Larry remain in police custody while investigations continue. Additionally, CP Owohunwa named an auxiliary nurse, Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the primary suspect in Mohbad’s death. According to the commissioner, Ms. Feyisayo administered several powerful injections to Mohbad, including Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone (an antibiotic), at the singer’s residence on September 12. The drugs led to an immediate adverse reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions, ultimately resulting in Mohbad’s tragic demise.
