Police Arrest Suspect Over Attack On Apostle Suleman

Yusuf Isah, a 32-year-old man, has been arrested by the police in connection with the assault on Apostle Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide. In October 2022, gunmen attacked the pastor’s convoy on the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State, resulting in the deaths of six people, including three policemen.

During a press conference in Abuja, the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced that Isah was apprehended by the Intelligence Rapid Team after a thorough investigation. The suspect was found in possession of five AK 47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, and 180 live ammunition.

Adejobi stated, “After conducting a comprehensive investigation into the tragic attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy and the gruesome murder of Benin police personnel on October 21, 2022, the FIB-IRT operatives on Auchi road, consisting of six individuals, including three of the attackers, arrested Yusuf Ismael Isah, a plumber and native of Okene, Kogi State, at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State. They also discovered five AK47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, 180 live ammunition, and four suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in his residence.”
