Opay agent gets 9-month jail term for stealing N300,000 in Kano A Kano Shari’a court sitting in Kwana Hudu has sentenced an Opay agent, Rabi’u Isah Gaida, to nine months imprisonment for stealing N300,000 from a customer’s online bank transfer.

According to the victim, Zubairu Murtala, the defendant stole the money without his consent when he asked him to open an Opay wallet account. The defendant admitted to using the money to place a bet on BetNaija. The presiding Judge, Nura Yusuf Ahmad, sentenced him to three months for breach of trust and six months for stealing, with an order to refund the stolen amount.
