Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, called for Nigerians’ patience amidst recent fuel price hikes during the campaign.
The condemnation arose following the petrol price surge from N540 to N617 per litre.
In a late Wednesday night tweet, Onanuga cautioned against hasty attacks on Tinubu’s administration in response to the fuel price increase. He stressed the importance of understanding that the entire country is experiencing the impact of this rise.

The veteran journalist encouraged the public to wait for the federal government’s promised palliatives, expressing hope that these measures would ease the burden caused by higher fuel prices. He highlighted the potential benefits of subsidy savings, such as redirecting more funds to states for various development initiatives.
“Let’s exercise restraint and avoid hasty judgments. This situation affects everyone. The promised palliatives should be given a chance to work. The savings from subsidies can be channeled into various development projects,” he tweeted.
