Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has commended the supporters of the Labour Party, LP, also known as “Obidients”, for their role in ensuring the nascent democracy in Nigeria thrives.
According to him, the party’s supporters have become a thorn in the flesh of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. In a tweet, he opined that if the supporters of the party were removed from the political space, Nigeria would become a dictatorship.

Senator Sani praised the actions of the Obidients, citing them as the reason why the nation has been saved from tyranny. With the ongoing challenge of the LP’s candidate against the APC’s Bola Tinubu, the Obidients remain a vital part of Nigeria’s political landscape.
He wrote, “If you remove the supporters of the Labour Party from Nigeria’s political space, we will all have the peace and tranquillity we want and the tyranny we don’t want.”
