Nigerian Pilgrim ‘Returns Lost $80,000’ In Saudi

A Nigerian pilgrim named Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce, hailing from Zamfara State, has gained recognition for her act of honesty. She reportedly returned $80,000 she found to its rightful owner in Saudi Arabia. The Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria shared this inspiring news on their Facebook page, along with a photograph of Aishatu, who comes from the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The post captioned, “This Nigerian pilgrim, Hajiya Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce from Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State, found $80,000 (equivalent to N56,000,000) and handed it over to the Zamfara Pilgrims Welfare Agency official for onward return to the owner. May Almighty Allah reward her honesty and accept her Hajj. Amen.”

Numerous commendations have been pouring in for Aishatu. Commenters expressed their appreciation for her integrity and suggested that she should be rewarded for her actions. Some individuals also raised concerns about the significant amount of money being carried by an individual during the pilgrimage.

In other news, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has formed a committee to review the services provided during the 2023 Hajj. Additionally, over 751 million food products were supplied to pilgrims in the holy sites.

This year, an estimated 95,000 Nigerians embarked on the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
