Mohbad’s Father Has Requested A DNA Test To Verify The Paternity Of His Grandson

Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, has revealed that the demand for a DNA test for the late singer’s son has become a global concern, extending beyond Nigeria.

The paternity of Mohbad’s five-month-old son has been a topic of discussion since the singer’s passing. Some social media users have called for a DNA test to clear the doubts about the loyalty of the late rapper’s wife, emphasizing her connection to Mohbad.

In an interview with the BBC Pidgin Service, Mohbad’s father emphasized the strong bond he shared with his late son, describing their relationship as that of close companions who interacted like brothers. He stated, “This issue has gained international attention, not just in Nigeria. The right thing should be done at the proper time.”

In an exclusive interview with The PUNCH, Mohbad’s father disclosed how his late son met his wife, Wunmi, at Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label. He described Mohbad as a simple and modest individual, emphasizing their connection from a young age in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos, before they reconnected at Naira Marley’s label. He clarified that there was no previous romantic relationship between them before they reconnected.

The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the artiste’s death. Additionally, a Coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death has been scheduled for October 13, 2023, where witnesses will testify. Attorney Funmi Falana, representing Mohbad’s family, stated that the proceedings aimed to ensure justice, and witnesses would be presented on the scheduled date.
