Mohbad Achieves A Remarkable Feat With Six Tracks Securing Spots In The Top 10 Of The Turntable Top 100 Chart

In the wake of Mohbad’s untimely passing on September 12, 2023, his music has experienced a significant surge in streaming numbers across Nigeria.

In the most recent edition of the TurnTable weekly Top 100 Nigeria chart, the late artist achieved a remarkable feat by securing six tracks within the top 10.

For the chart week spanning from September 15 to 21, 2023, Mohbad’s ‘Ask About Me’ ascended an impressive 20 positions to claim the second spot. ‘Beast & Peace’ also made a remarkable leap of 29 places to secure the third position, while ‘Peace’ climbed to the number one spot on the Apple Music Nigeria chart, advancing by 23 positions to reach number 23.

Furthermore, ‘Pariwo,’ featuring Bella Shmurda, saw a substantial increase of 44 places to land at number 7, ‘Sabi’ surged 68 places to occupy the eighth position, and ‘Feel Good’ experienced a notable rise of 25 places to clinch the ninth spot.

Since his passing, Mohbad’s music has received a rocketed increase in streaming with his debut EP ‘Light’ released in 2020 and his sophomore EP ‘Blessed’ released in 2023 enjoying a resurgence on streaming platforms.

Mohbad’s passing has been met with an outcry from the general public who demands investigations into the issues of foul play surrounding his death.

The late talented Street Hop maestro has been eulogized by both Nigerian and international artists including Lil Durk, Meek Mill, and Kodak Black.

A memorial in honour of the late Mohbad was held on September 21, 2023, in Lagos state as thousands of fans and several artists including Davido, Chike, Falz, Zlatan, and Skales all in attendance.
