Major-general Lagbaja Launches Operation Hakorin Damisa IV To Tackle Plateau State Killings

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja, has initiated a Special Operation called ‘Operation Hakorin Damisa IV’ to address the escalating killings and other criminal activities in Plateau State.

GoldmyneTV reports that over the last two months, more than 300 individuals have been killed in Mangu Local Government Area and neighboring communities due to a series of attacks by gunmen.

During the launch of the special operation in Mangu on Saturday, Lagbaja stated that its primary objective is to address the ongoing security challenges within the region. He urged the troops of the special force to be responsive to distress calls and collaborate with other security agencies to eliminate all forms of insecurity in the area.

Addressing the troops, Lagbaja emphasized the importance of their professionalism and adherence to rules of engagement throughout the operation. He vowed to address the challenges faced by soldiers in the war front and expressed his commitment to restoring peace and security in troubled areas across the country.

Lagbaja also urged the residents of Mangu LGA to cooperate with the military and other security agencies by providing timely information to ensure a prompt response to security threats.

Prior to the launch, the COAS was briefed on the security situation in the area by Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, the Commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigeria Army. Additionally, he engaged with religious and community leaders, youth and women groups, and local authority officials in Mangu.
