Canada Extends Invitation to Skilled Professionals Including Carpenters, Plumbers, and Welders from Various Countries

The Canadian government has recently taken a step to address its shortage of skilled trade workers by inviting individuals with specific expertise in carpentry, plumbing, and welding to apply for immigration. This move aims to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in crucial sectors that contribute significantly to Canada’s economic growth and development. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that the country’s Express Entry (EE) system has been customized to offer a streamlined pathway for individuals with expertise in these critical fields.

The IRCC Minister, Marc Miller, emphasized the importance of combatting the shortage of skilled trade workers and supporting the construction sector in finding and retaining the necessary workforce. This new category-based selection process is designed to recognize the essential contributions of skilled tradespeople and provide them with opportunities to immigrate to Canada.
