Prominent vocalist, Olugbemiro Tokunbo, better known as Gt Da Guitarman, once declared his intention never to remarry following the breakdown of his initial marriage, which he shared on social media.
However, in a recent conversation with Saturday Beats, the singer reversed his stance on the matter. He expressed, “I would welcome the idea of finding love again. Furthermore, I’ve gained more wisdom over time. Only a misguided individual would reject love. If one rejects love, then what alternative do they have—animosity? Love is a truly wonderful emotion. Blocking oneself off from love could potentially be a root cause of the struggles faced by many who are enduring difficult times. It is a misconception to hold the view that love is undesirable.”
The singer also revealed his plans to reenter the music scene with his fresh sound titled ‘Elody’. He shared, “I have been dedicating myself to crafting my Extended Play (EP) album, and it has been an enriching journey. I have had the privilege of collaborating with exceptionally talented producers who have enabled me to explore aspects of my artistry that have yet to be unveiled. Although the selection of tracks for the album is still pending, we have already recorded a considerable number of songs. Witnessing individuals from my generation, the ‘boys’ I grew up with, achieving international recognition is a source of pride. With the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Asake, and Olamide gaining prominence, I have been strategizing on ways to establish my presence in this domain and connect with people’s hearts through the afrobeats genre.”
