Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has made an earnest appeal to Nigerians, urging them to maintain their patience and support for the federal government’s policies. He emphasized that the current challenges stemming from the recent fuel subsidy removal would ultimately yield positive outcomes.
Governor Abiodun conveyed this message during an impromptu visit to the Iwe Iroyin secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council. He underscored that the administration led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working diligently to fulfill all its campaign promises, as outlined in the “Renewed Hope Manifesto.”
“I also want to extend this plea to all of us to maintain our patience, not just with the present administration in Ogun State, but with the Federal Government as well. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership at the federal level is committed to realizing all the promises enshrined in the Renewed Hope Manifesto.”
“From the very day he assumed office, the President exhibited great determination. He made the bold move to eliminate the subsidy and deregulate the price of petrol. This was a necessary step, as the nation could no longer bear the burden. Continuing down that path would have led the country towards bankruptcy.”
“Moreover, he didn’t stop there. He promptly took action to stabilize the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate,” the governor emphasized.
During his interaction with journalists, Governor Abiodun encouraged them to uphold professionalism and patriotism as they fulfill their role as watchdogs and essential partners in the progress of nation-building.
