Former Amazon Manager Handed A Prison Sentence Of 16 Years For Embezzling Nearly $10 Million

A former employee of Amazon has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for her involvement in a fraudulent scheme that resulted in the theft of over $9 million from the company. Kayricka Wortham, who worked as an operations manager at an Amazon Warehouse in Georgia, used her position to create fake vendors and submit false invoices, leading to unauthorized payments totaling $9.4 million.

Alongside six others, Wortham participated in the fraud scheme, using the illicitly obtained funds to purchase luxury items, including a nearly $1 million home. Wortham pleaded guilty to the charges and will also be required to pay restitution to Amazon.
