FG Declares Public Holiday

The federal government, under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially declared Wednesday, September 27th, as a public holiday.

This announcement comes in honor of the Eil-ul-Maulid celebration, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The declaration of this holiday was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, through a statement issued on Monday night on behalf of the government.

In the statement, conveyed by Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Minister extended warm congratulations to the Muslim faithful both within the country and across the diaspora for experiencing this year’s significant occasion.

He encouraged Nigerians to embrace the values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are profound spiritual virtues that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) exemplified throughout his life.

Tunji-Ojo also appealed to the youth to adopt a strong work ethic and maintain peaceful relationships with fellow citizens, regardless of differences in faith, ideology, social status, or ethnicity. He further called upon them to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu in the collective effort to build a progressive and prosperous nation.
