Court Remands Trinity Guy, Minor’s Parents For 52 More Days

In Ibadan, Oyo State, a Family Court has once again ordered the extended detention of Maruf Abdullahi, also known as Trinity Guy, and the parents of a minor until August 31. They are accused of sexually exploiting a 10-year-old girl in the state.

According to previous reports by PUNCH Metro, the police had summoned Abdullahi, a popular content creator, regarding a viral video involving a minor. He, along with the parents of the child, was charged with conspiracy and sexual abuse/exploitation.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, stated, “Abdullahi, aka Trinity Guy, has been contacted and invited to the state police command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content making the rounds across the social media space concerning a female minor. Further updates would be provided soon.”

Magistrate P. O. Adetuyibi ordered the continued remand of Abdullahi, 31, and the child’s parents, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and Rofiat Ahmed, 29, in Agodi Correction Centre.

During the court session, the prosecution counsel, Oluwakemi Arowosaye, informed the court that the accused parties had conspired to commit sexual abuse. She stated, “On December 17, 2022, Trinity allegedly sexually abused and exploited the 10-year-old girl in the Kuola area of Ibadan.”

The police stated that their actions violated the provisions of Section 35(1) and were punishable under Section 35(2) of the state Child Rights Law 2006. Additionally, it contravened the provisions of Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
