The coroner’s inquiry into the demise of the late 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, is scheduled to commence on Friday. The inquiry will take place at the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi revealed this information in a letter dated September 26th, addressed to the law firm of Falana and Falana Chambers.
In a letter dated September 18th, 2023, addressed to the Chief Coroner of the High Court of Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada, the law firm had requested an inquest to investigate the circumstances surrounding the “very tragic” and “mysterious” death of Mohbad.
In response to the law firm’s letter, the coroner stated that she had received directives from the Chief Coroner of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Mojisola Dada, to convene an inquest in accordance with the relevant provisions of Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner’s System Law of Lagos State, Cap C15, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
It was previously reported that the singer passed away on September 12 and was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the following day.
