Chef Dammy's Response to Guinness World Records' Rejection of Her 120-Hour Cook-A-Thon

Chef Dammy, the renowned Nigerian chef, expressed her reaction following the Guinness World Records’ denial of approval for her 120-Hour Cook-A-Thon. It should be noted that Chef Dammy embarked on this cooking marathon in Oye-Ekiti with the ambitious goal of cooking for 120 consecutive hours.

On Wednesday morning, Adeparusi successfully achieved her target of cooking for 120 hours, which was met with both jubilation from supporters and criticisms from skeptics. Some have raised questions regarding whether Adeparusi followed the correct procedure and surpassed Hilda Baci’s record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

LegitNG reached out to the Guinness World Records, and according to their inquiry, GWR stated that they did not receive an application from Chef Dammy.

“We have not received an application for this attempt. Applications can be made via the Guinness World Records website for our records management team to review,” Guinness World Record reportedly said.

“Once an application is accepted, the record claimant receives a set of detailed guidelines specific to that record category that must be adhered to.

“This also details a list of evidence that must be submitted for our team to verify the record. Guinness World Records maintains a rigorous review process to maintain the integrity of each Guinness World Records title.”

In response to this, Chef Dammy took to her Facebook page to clarify that her 120-hour Cook-A-Thon was intended to challenge her own capabilities rather than breaking any record.

She also expressed excitement about hitting her target and not giving up.

She wrote:

“I stated this earlier that I embarked on this journey to test my capability not for any GWR.

“l am happy that I cooked for 120 hours. I am proud that I never gave up”
